What To Know About This Production

Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture (featuring the enormously popular Academy Award-winning music and delightfully charming book and lyrics). Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance.

In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking.

Auditions For Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr

What To Expect At Auditions

Audition Notes:

All audition material (script, score and backing tracks) can be found here

You need to prepare before auditioning for musical theatre.

Allow time to practice, practice, practice. Learn your script lines as best you can and know the song or songs you will need.

You may be auditioning for multiple roles but you may only read one script piece, that’s ok, the audition panel will let you know if they need to see or hear more

If you do make a mistake. Do not get upset or mad at yourself. We are all human and it is OK to make a mistake.

We are looking for PROMISE, NOT PERFECTION

· Wear comfortable clothes

· Turn your phone OFF

· Bring a drink bottle

How will the Audition run?

· Arrive (at least 15 minutes before your call time)

· Sign in downstairs at the regent

· You will be brought up in your group

Singing

We will all sing through the prepared song then we will ask you to sing your part solo

If you get nervous we do allow 2 or 3 people to sing at once if needed (we know auditions can be scary :)

We may ask you to sing a little of your chosen character song but don't worry if we don't, we may have already heard what we needed to.

Acting

We will get people to read from script and take direction, as much as we can we will have you read characters you are auditioning for but you may be asked to read another character to assist the scene

Dancing

You will learn a dance there, part of the audition is seeing how you pick up moves.

You will do the dance as a group a number of times before doing this as smaller group
